Hey guys, today I thought I’d share with you with my go-to lipsticks that will usually suit an everyday wear! I’ll admit I don’t wear makeup as much as I should, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t have my favourites. I’ve chosen three lipsticks to show you as otherwise there would be too many…!
Urban Decay Vice Sheer Lipstick
A lipstick that is my number 1 go-to is the UD Sheer Lipstick in ‘Sheer Liar‘, which i’ll admit, is not even that sheer! It has a glossy finish with a good amount of colour payoff, more than what you would imagine a sheer lipstick would. It does not feel drying on the lips, and is extremely easy to apply, however it will not last you the whole day due to how glossy it is, so bear that in mind. If you’re only going out for a few hours then this would be a great lipstick to throw on, or if you’re like me, I’ll wear it anyway and then just not reapply anything for the rest of the day apart from lip balm!
It retails for £16.50, which is definitely not the cheapest lipstick, but it is from Urban Decay, and if you’re happy to spend a bit more on makeup then it isn’t too expensive.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
Next up is a more affordable item from the bunch, and this is in the shade ‘Abu Dhabi‘, which is a pinky-coral colour that will suit a lot of skin tones. The soft matte lip creams are not a ‘one swipe’ type of lipstick, and definitely needs a couple of coats to make it nicely opaque, but it doesn’t take much effort to build it up.
The more that I wear the lipstick the more I find that the colour is not my favourite, I just feel like it leans too peachy on me and I don’t like it as much as I do nude pinks. However for the price, £6, you can’t really go wrong! They also come in a wide range of colours, about 45 listed on FeelUnique, so there should be something for everybody, and I feel like I need to try out some more colours as I do really like it!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick
This lipstick is a newer one in my collection, but it has definitely proved itself among my others! It is the ABH lipstick in ‘Kiss‘, which I bought as part of the Mini Set a while ago (review). When it says matte, it definitely is matte, but not in the sense that it’s too drying, more like you know it’s not going to just slide off your face all that easy! I’ve found that with this lipstick if I haven’t prepared my lips properly then it will look a bit cakey, however all I need to do is pat it in my fingers or add a teeny tiny bit of lip balm over it to make it smoother. Other than that, it applies nicely, it has a good colour payoff, and is a nice nude lipstick to have in your collection!
Again, this is another more expensive lipstick, pricing at £18, but you can always try it out in the mini size if you’re happy to try out the other lipsticks that come in the set. It retails for £22 and you get to try out 4 mini lipsticks, which is a great option to choose from if you’re not sure whether you’d like them or not!
So here are my three go-to lipsticks for an everyday wear, I hope you found it useful and maybe inspired you to try something new!
Love, Emily x
