In recent months I have begun to favour lip glosses over lipsticks, and so have expanded my collection a fair amount. I wanted to share with you two lip products from e.l.f Cosmetics that are really good quality for the price, and are excellent at making your lips look as great as ever. I hope you enjoy this post, and I’d love it if you let me know whether you’ve tried either of these products before!
Lip Plumping Gloss
With seven colours to choose from, the lip plumping gloss is a standout product for me from e.l.f, coming in at only £6 yet performing so well. I currently own the shades <a style="color:#cc99ff;" href="http://E.L.F. Lip Plumping Gloss 2.7Ml Champagne” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>’Champagne’ and <a style="color:#cc99ff;" href="http://E.L.F. Lip Plumping Gloss 2.7Ml Sparkling Rose” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>’Sparking Rose’, both of which apply nicely and are consistent with each other. My favourite would be Champagne, as it adds a beautiful sheen to your lips with a gold accent, but it doesn’t contain any large glitter particles, leaving your lips feeling smooth and looking great. Sparking Rose is a nice colour for spring, but I’ve found that it applies much lighter in colour on the lips than in the swatch below, so I will probably get less wear out of this one.
Both glosses are extremely pigmented, and can either be worn alone or over another lipstick – personally I think that they are better on their own, it shows you how lovely these really are! As with most glosses they last between 2-3 hours, assuming that you aren’t eating or drinking, but when they do fade they do so evenly and gradually – for the price I think these are a really good gloss option to add to your collection. Whilst they do have a tacky feeling to them, they are not overly sticky and do not bunch up when you rub your lips together. I find that it’s hard to find a gloss that has absolutely no stickiness to them, but I’ve definitely tried much worse than these – which is why I think they are great.
Tinted Lip Oil
I’ll come out and say it right away, I quite enjoy this! At first when I opened it I thought it would be similar to a lip gloss, and that actually maybe it was just that with an oil added into it. I soon realised that it is not the same, and that there is a clear difference between this oil and a typical lip gloss. When you first apply it it feels like it’s going to be exactly like a lip gloss, until you begin to blend it out, and that’s when you notice that it is in fact something entirely different! It feels soft on the lips and blends out into a thin wash of colour, but considering that it is called an oil I never expected it to be full pigment anyway. If you don’t blend it out it will leave lines where you’ve rubbed your lips together, so I just like to tap over it with my fingers to make sure everything is blended in, which doesn’t ruin the application.
As you can see from the picture above, it does have some pigment to it, but it definitely is a sheer wash of colour once blended out, and because of this it won’t last very long on the lips – but I think it’s a great option if you’re only popping out for a little bit, if you’re staying at home, or if you want something that will fade without leaving a stain. My only complaint is that I feel like the wand doesn’t pick up enough product to be able to apply enough without dipping back in again, and you definitely know when the product is gone as it sort of tugs against your lips when it’s dry. I think that what makes this prominent is that the wand has a dip in the middle to help hug the shape of your lips, but personally I could do without it as I think it’s what causes the problem.
Have you tried either of these products before?
