Hiya! Since I started only buying cruelty-free makeup I’ve been on the hunt to test out a few different mascaras to see if I can find one I really like. So far I’ve tried Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara, and their Troublemaker mascara, which I have a review on here! Whilst I liked Perversion, I don’t want to simply settle on a mascara when there are so many others out there that could suit me a lot better. So I was very interested to try out Zoeva’s Graphic Lash Mascara, and I have to say I am very happy I did!
This mascara retails for £9, and it claims to ‘thicken and lengthen lashes’ and offers ‘instant natural volume’, and whilst I wouldn’t say it is as voluminous as it probably could be, it definitely did more than I was expecting it to! I think a lot of my views were based on the packaging, as the design is just so sleek and simple that I was expecting a simple mascara, but I was wrong for sure. Zoeva themselves just have elegant and simple packaging, yet they have products that work really well, such as their eyeliners and lip pencils!
The formula is quite thin, but it can be built up to add more volume; it isn’t much but it’s noticeable. Like most mascaras it can start to get clumpy if you apply too much, but it does not make your lashes look spidery in any way, and that’s a win from me, as I personally hate the look of spidery, clumpy lashes.
What I will say is that it will rub off your lower lashes onto your eyes after a couple of hours of wearing, however this could also be because I don’t typically set my under-eyes due to them being quite dry, and so maybe if I had set them the transfer wouldn’t happen*. I don’t think I would recommend this as an all-day mascara, say if you’re going to be out of the house for 12 hours or so, but if you’re going out for a few hours and want your eyelashes to pop then it would be great for that!
*Can confirm! I set my under-eyes before going to a concert at the O2, and even through all of that there was minimal smudging compared to the amount I would have if I hadn’t set them at all!
If I don’t find another mascara that makes my lashes look as luscious as this, I will definitely be repurchasing, but for now I am still in my testing phase, and will keep you updated for sure!
Have you tried this before? What other cruelty-free mascaras would you recommend?
