Late to the game – AS ALWAYS – but I’ve finally tried the Milky Jelly Cleanser from Glossier, and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised! I’m sure you’ve heard of this if you’re an avid beauty lover, but I still wanted to give my review of it just in case there’s anyone out there still considering it. Let’s get on to the review, shall we?
All it takes is one or two pumps to cover your entire face, depending on what you’re using it for. The texture is really smooth and silky, almost jelly like (duh) but it has a hold to it – it’s not liquidy by any chance. It is really easy to spread this over the face, and is not harsh in the slightest, so I see no reason for this to irritate your skin considering it is so gentle. It is also really easy to wash off, and does not leave your skin feeling stripped or dry afterwards. As well as being a daily face wash it can also be used to help remove and break down makeup, which is always a win-win. I had no doubts about this removing my face makeup, but was curious to see how well it worked around the eye area, and on mascara in particular.
I was shocked. It is so gentle that I couldn’t even tell if I’d got any of this in my eyes, althought I’m sure I must have since I was really rubbing it on my lashes! I’ve tried other makeup removers that say they are safe for the eye area, but have always known the exact moment they’ve got into my eyes. But with this cleanser? Nothing! Along with not stinging my eyes at all, it did a really good job of breaking down my mascara, which I was pleasantly surprised about.
After washing everything off I did use my Face Halo |review| to remove anything that might have been missed, including around my eye area. Naturally there was still some mascara on my eyes, but this was probably because I didn’t want to go too overboard around my eye area in case something bad was going to happen (ya know like my eyes burning or something). As an initial first cleanse it works really well!
I can easily see this becoming a staple in my routine and skincare collection! Currently I don’t have any favourite face washes as I’m only just starting to test a few out, but honestly if this can wash my face and remove my makeup, I think I’m set for life.
Have you tried this cleanser before, do you like it? Let me know!
Love, Emily x
