After seeing a couple of people talking about this sunscreen, I decided to purchase the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 as an impulse buy whilst I had a birthday discount code. There are two sizes available: 15ml for £15, or 50ml for £30 – and since I like getting my money’s worth, I decided to get the larger size and hoped that I would like it! If you’re interested in how this sunscreen performs and whether I think it is worth the price, read on…
“With no greasy feel and no tell-tale white film, this universally flattering sunscreen is perfect for every complexion – providing unparalleled UV deflection while being coral-reef friendly and without suffocating your skin or exacerbating congestion”
Unseen Sunscreen comes in a plastic bottle with a twist off cap, boasting an SPF of 30, high UVB protection, and claims to be water resistant too. The bottle allows for the product to come out easily, and it is hard to squeeze out too much either – compared to other products I’ve tried this is much better. The sunscreen feels silicone-like without the greasy feeling that some silicone products have, mostly primers. Due to this it also means that the product is unlikely to leak on its own without pressure being applied, again something that I’ve experienced with other sunscreens.
For some reason I thought this was going to be a cream, no idea why! So imagine my surprise when a clear silicone gel came out instead – I’m pretty sure I actually went ‘oh… okay’, because I thought this going to ruin it for me. However I am glad to say that in terms of silicone beauty products, this actually felt really nice on my skin! It glided across my skin with ease, and most importantly did not leave my skin feeling greasy afterwards. It leaves no white cast either due to it being a silicone, and it definitely meets its claim of being clear on the skin, making it perfect for a wide range of skin tones. I also think it should last a fair amount of daily use as a little goes a long way.
In terms of its SPF, 30 is quite good for day-to-day use, as long as enough is applied evenly over the skin – even better if you use a foundation that also has SPF in it. Of course the sunscreen should be reapplied every two to three hours, potentially more if you’ve been swimming. Whilst it claims to be water resistant, I would still recommend reapplying it if your face gets wet just in case, as it is hard to know whether you are still protected or not. Overall, this is the best sunscreen I have tried so far, and I would definitely recommend it as it is cruelty-free and vegan, along with how it should be able to suit a wide range of skin types and tones!
Have you tried the Unseen Sunscreen before?
As always,
Love, Emily x
