Beauty products laid next to each other on a white surface

Last month was my birthday month, so of course I took the opportunity to buy some things I’ve been wanting for a while, and a couple of impulse purchases too. My main beauty sites are Cult Beauty, Feelunique and Beauty Bay – which is where all of these products can be found. I thought I’d share what I bought with you in case you find any of these interesting, or wanted to know whether I think they are worth it so far!

I have been lusting after the Natasha Denona Sunrise Palette | £60 | for over a year now, and I finally decided that it was time to take the plunge – along with a nice 20% off birthday treat. The colours in this palette are different to anything else I own, and I’d heard good things about ND shadows from multiple people, so I was extremely excited when it finally arrived. The compactness of the palette makes it perfect for travelling, and the shadows are beautiful as well, I definitely want to get one of the larger palettes in the future. I also picked up the Olaplex N°3 Hair Perfector | £26 | since it is a cult favourite in the beauty world and my hair is in need of a boost! I will let you know how this goes, and I’m also intrigued to try the shampoo and conditioner that go along with this too.

I picked up the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender | £11 | to try as I’ve previously owned the Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater spray which I enjoyed very much. Currently I wouldn’t purchase this again as I’ve realised I enjoy the scent at night, however I don’t want the scent on my face – for some reason there’s a difference between spraying it on my face and on my pillow. I will use it up obviously, but for the face I think I prefer the Rosewater spray. A new brand and product for me is the Suva Beauty Hydra Liner in ‘Space Panda’ | £12.50 | which I bought to try and get into doing some more creative eye looks with a simpler colour, as this liner is white. Whilst I haven’t tried this yet I’m sure it will live up to the hype it receives! Another new brand to me is Nabla, and I picked up their Cupid’s Arrow Full Colour Stylo in ‘Arrow #1’ | £14.50 | which is described as a hazelnut nude, and is multi-use, however I plan to use this on the eyes as either an all-over eyeshadow or as a base. Again I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m hoping to pick up some more Nabla products in the future so I’ll update you then!

Finally, I picked up three impulse purchases as I had one day left to use my 15% off voucher at Cult Beauty. Another brand that has blown up recently is Summer Fridays with their Jet Lag Mask, | £43 | a hydrating mask that is great for adding extra moisture to the skin, and can be used as a normal mask, an overnight mask, or even as a primer underneath makeup. This really is luxurious and is very thick in texture, yet spreads evenly so you don’t need much to cover the whole face – I purchased the smaller version first to ensure that I enjoy it, and I would definitely pick up the larger size next time. If you’ve read my post on the Konjac Sponge before | review | then you’ll know that I didn’t have a particularly good experience with that particular sponge, so I thought I would buy another one to see if the Calming Chamomile and Pink Clay | £9.99 | is better for my skin than the Green Tea sponge! The last item I picked up is the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 | £30 | review | to add to my growing collection of facial sunscreen’s as you can never really have too many. I was pleasantly surprised by this, and I think it’s worth looking into if you’re after a new sunscreen.

These were the items I picked up over the last couple of months, and I’m looking forward to trying the new things that I got! Have you picked up anything recently?

As always,

Love, Emily x

  1. I would really like to try the Supergoop! sunscreen (im currently using the body shop skin defence which is great as its factor 50). And I love the look of the natasha denona palettes but they are so expensive! Do you think they are worth so much money? They do look beautiful!

    1. I used to use the body shop sunscreen until they discontinued it – of course now they’ve brought it back! I only have the Sunrise palette so far and it really is lovely, it’s the smaller size at £60 but I think it’s a good price for the 15 shadows. I’d read reviews on ND palettes first like I did – but they are stunning and I want more! x

    1. The shades are perfect for summer! This palette is one of the smaller ones, it’s actually a really good size to travel with and is only just larger than the size of your hand! x

  2. This was such perfect timing! This month is my birthday month and I’m in the middle of making my orders right now. I’ve had my eye on the jet lag mask so it’s great to know you’re enjoying it x

  3. How did you find the new Konjac sponge? I’m a big fan, I used to get mine from tiger for only £2 and it was great but they stopped selling them now and ones i’ve tried since don’t seem to do a lot

    1. It’s been good so far – I find it helps to smooth out the skin more than anything. I need to use it for a bit longer but I’ll definitely be writing another review of it!
